I am a visual learner. I have a great imagination and I like to picture things in my mind. I like to "see" something to understand. I love photos, magazines, movies, and a great view.
Our world is a visual world.
There is power in an image. An emotion, action, experience and expression. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. To show something that can't well be described or explained.
I don't have any experience with photography apart from Photojournalism 11 and I was on the layout staff of my grade 12 Yearbook, but I have learned that there is a moment. A single moment. A drop of water as it falls, a smile, the sun hitting at the right time of day.
I have an interest in capturing these moments, and not only these moments, but ideas.
I started blogging because I had a desire to start something that I call "conceptual journaling". Using words and images to show ideas that are meaningful and inspiring to me.
The Bible is visual, from Creation to Revelation. Jesus used image to teach people about God. He used visual stories called parables. Farming, Fishing, Shepherds, Vineyards. He used pictures that the people knew.
There is a spiritual kind of sight as well. An "inner" eye to see God's character and a part of God's purpose for our lives. I pray that God gives me this sight with 20/20 vision.
Amazing Grace.
"Your eye is a lamp for your body. A pure eye lets sunshine into your soul." Luke 11:34
