Thought I'd post our strawberry jam recipe, to share it and to help me remember it for next year!
Making strawberry jam is easy and fun, and it tastes so much better than store bought,
made with only 4 ingredients:
3 1/2-3 3/4 cups of crushed strawberries
5 c granulated sugar (2 c less than the certo recipe asks for)
1/4 c lemon juice
1 pouch CERTO liquid pectin (I prefer using the liquid to the powder)
Steps: 1. In a large mixing bowl stir together prepared strawberries and sugar
2. Let stand 10 min.
3. Add liquid pectin and lemon juice. Stir for 3 minutes.
4. Put into clean containers filling up to 1/4 inch from the rim.
Cover with lids. Leave at room temperature 24 hours or until set.
Makes about 7-8 large jars. Store in the fridge and freeze the rest. Enjoy your jam!!!
