Awhile back, before the Olympics, I started celebrating each day of the week. Sometimes I find it hard transitioning from weekend, to work, to homelife, changing roles from wife, mother, teacher, friend etc. It can feel like quite the juggling act.
That's why I try to celebrate each day for what it is and enjoy those small and seemingly insignificant moments that can make up a truly wonderful day.
I can't say we have much of a routine on Thursdays, I've tried to make some, but there are always things that seem to come up each week.
A birthday party, an assembly at the school, and today it was a celebration at Megan's Kindergarten class.
I think sometimes after the structure of my teaching days, I look forward to a bit of flexibility and freedom to choose what I want to do, mixed in with the usual cleaning, meals, errands etc.
Today we spent most of the day outside. It was a sunny springish day.
Walking between this row of trees with the blossoms floating through the air and towards the ground like snow, felt like the scene of a fairytale.
Scrambled eggs for lunch,
And off to enjoy another park. This time we ran into some more friends there. After we picked up Miranda from school, we started to open our Easter box.
Those are the highlights of my Thursday. I was looking at the blossoms and I was thinking about how beautiful they are, and for what a short time they bloom before they become fewer and fewer on the branches.
There's beauty to be discovered each day and each day truly is a gift.
Happy Thursday to you! (or it might be Friday...)
